I just install AlstraSoft -- Video Share Enterprise (http://www.alstrasoft.com/videoshare.htm) on my server for testing purpose only and…

include/conf.ini” the most important file in the application must have 775 permissions otherwise the application wont work properly.

So, with this “conf.ini” permissions everyone can see “MySQL” Hostname, Username and Password on any AlstraSoft -- Video Share site.

For an example: http://www.alstrahost.com/videoshare/include/conf.ini

By the way…
Many people use same username and password for their FTP and MySQL accounts.
I think “conf.ini” have a serious permissions problem for this application with

To D|P:

You could add a rule to your httpd.conf like this

<FilesMatch "^\conf.ini">
Order allow,deny
Deny from all
Allow from localhost
</FilesMatch>

Guess this should do it.

You are not the only customer alstrasoft problems, other customers were not informed of the bug and then have the online site have been attacked and even erased them exclusive information such as videos and admin users
You must ask alstrasoft you provide a patch for this application on an urgent basis

I bought Alstrasoft videoshare and bitterly regret the experience. The software does not work properly and the aftersales care is negligible. I'd like to warn anyone who is considering buying from this company to thoroughly search the web using search words +alstrasoft +problem.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I read that clip-share is most likely associated with Alstrasoft.

If you want a good video hosting software try vshare from buyscripts.in for just $10. I was sceptical about them till I tried their software. The fact that they have an active support forum is encouraging.
