Bulk-emal in ACP

Can anyone tell me how to "bulk e-mail" members in ACP please, i can't seem to get it going, am i supposed to write in the box in various places, then click go, i thought this was all part of the e-mail which the members recieve.
I think though i am suppsed to put e-mail addresses in the box where we write what the message is about.
