Cancel bubble in Colorbox

Hello.
I use colorbox on a button.
The button is placed on a div.
Clicking anywhere on the div perform some action.
When clicking on the button, both the colorbox and the div under it are activated.
How do I stop/cancel bubbling when clicking on this colorbox button?

I think i understand what you mean however its something under the coading thats telling both div what to do. with out seeing the code try naming the divs and in the code for the button tell the button what name div you want
