This may be a silly question but what is the difference between Content Management System(CMS, Drupal) and Model view controller(MVC, Codeigniter). Can someone explain these and tell me their usages.

CMS are usually "plug and play" websites. There is a base premade system that you can extend with modules or plugins. You really don't need to know any code to use a CMS. MVC is a software architecture, that you can use to develop application. Codeigniter is a PHP framework that utilizes the MVC architecture to allow developers to create powerful application quickly.

PyroCMS is a CMS built with CodeIgniter.
