I want to develop a map to display a dataset of addresses. If I want to use Google Maps, are there
limitations to the number of points that I can show on the map? Is there ways to search for the points by means of addresses or ZIP codes?

No There is no Limit on Markers in google map V3 api.
Second As Each Point/Marker is represented By LatLng Object So you can easily store them Corresponding to Address Records.

For convert Address to Lat and Lng you can use Geocoding Service or Google or any third party Service.
