Could someone offer me some advise as to how to get hold of an install the free scripts such as PHP and ASP onto my own PC, and how to get them to work with Dreamweaver so that there is no need to upload my files onto a server to test my pages.

I bet this is a popular question...

Yeah, research IIS like s15199d says, then sit back and have a good laugh while you watch Apache install :D

I know a few people who use Triad and have no problems, although personally I prefer FoxServ

AXE im having problems with Foxserv

Why does FoxServ not work on my PC?

As a complete novice I had previously installed it on my PC but got worried by all the stuff I knew nothing about and instantly uninstalled it. Again this morning (overcoming this fear) I came to install it today but it does not work. (I don't know if it worked the first time). When I say it doesn't work, the http://localhost function doesn't bring up a page, and the MySQL is on the 'red light. Having uninstalled it now to consult you and start from the beginning it still appears in the Windows Services, does this make a difference having it there before I install?

How do I remove both Apache and Mysql from the Services? or do i need to when you tell me what to do and re-install.

I can't seem to find the answer on the foxserve site, so if there is anyone who uses it, please ehlp me. I really want to get PHP and the server up and working on the PC.

Could anyone run me through tht step, and what I should expect to find.

I run the install file..... Apache monitor says APACHE it is working and running, but as I say, the MySQL is not (its red light on the status bar). LocalHost does not bring up a page, and im stuck..... Please help...

Sounds like the connection to your DB is busted. Make sure you have the correct path when connecting your code to the DB.

I have no database. MySQL is not working from the beginning before I do any web designing. No green light.
