ok, i'm wanting to make a gaming website. I was using html but there are some things that i heard i cant do, like adding login/log out. I heard you have to use php. I'm a little confused. With html, i saved my work in a folder as for example "blank.html" and uploaded it to my hosting site. How do i do this with php? And also, do i have to have anything special for php? I'm sorry these are dumb questions but i'm completely lost and i'm also sorry if this is the wrong forum. please help

http://www.php.net

^^^Great resource.

Anyways if your host supports it you save as blank.php and upload it as normal. I doubt you'll want to dive into making a login script right away, maybe learn php a litte beforehand.

Another great place to look is http://www.phpfreaks.com, a lot of prewritten snippets and scripts, as well as a lot of tutorials.
