a moderator closed the topic at

programming-forum/phpmyadmin-error-1045-access-denied-for-user-root-t64849.html

he said that the post is old and the problem is certainly fixed by now.

unfortunately NO.... I installed Phpbb 2 week ago and it worked well
until yesterday.
now I get this error:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Access denied for user 'myUsername'@'WSH-007' (using password: YES) [1045]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

I looked into the config.php, everything look fine. My password and username are fine.

I asked the administrator about it, they answered it's a problem in the phpBB software. they said my password is wrong for that db. nobody got accessed to it and nobody have access to phpmy admin except me.

When I said the problem is probably fixed, I meant for the user who started the thread... if another user has a problem, he/she should start a new thread as to not deter the normal train of thought from the original topic. Hope that made sense  And I'm not a moderator (:D No matter how much I'd like to mod).

Have you done anything to the user or the database before the problem occurred?

Usually, a username has to be given access privileges to a database that it would use. That could be done by following the following simple steps:

1) Go to PHPMyAdmin
2) Click on 'Privileges' (A tab on the top)
3) Select the user that would have access to the database (The little guy in the right with his hands up).
4) Edit the privileges that the user would have to that database (Under the section 'Database', there is the same guy at the right).
5) Type in the name of the database in the input box
6) Click 'Go' and you are done.

I hope that makes sense
