So theres been quite a bit of discussion over the various PHP Frameworks. I believe BWM will be using a framework for the rebuild of Ozzu. What frameworks have you guys used and what are your thoughts on them. give me some feed back on some. I'm considering using a framework for an upcoming project, but I'm not sold on any of them yet, and not sold on the idea of using a framework, versus building it from scratch.

Some common frameworks:
Yii
Codeigniter
CakePHP
Zend
Symfony
PHPDevShell
Prado
Akelos
QPHP
Zoop
PHPOpenBiz
eZ Components

Seems like Yii, CodeIgniter, CakePHP, Zend and Symfony are the most popular frameworks. Who's used what, what for, and how did it work out?

CakePHP is good if you want a Rails-like framework. I've heard good things about Codeigniter but have never played with it myself.

If it were my project, I would just choose not to use PHP ;)

I have used both Cake and CodeIgnater, in my experience, cake is too heavy and personally it bugs my nerves when something is so freaking slow generally speaking - something good about cake is the documentation but still does not balance for me, and in contrast with codeIgnater, I love CI.. <3 is lightweight that is what I love the most about it.
