June 23rd, 97 years ago, Alan Mathison Turing was born. He passed away in 1954, but his legacy lives on. Many (including myself!) still consider Mr. Turing to be the founding father of computer science. Anyone who's familiar with algorithms, the Turing Test (or the Turing machine, for that matter) surely knows what an impact he had on our field. My respects to Alan Turing and all the other ladies and gentlemen who have paved the way for me to do what I love on a daily basis and given me the opportunity to make a living of it.
I'd love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

We owe a lot to these people. Without them, we might not be enjoying most of what this world has today. And that includes salary from job opportunities this brought.

And we should continue to respect and implement the purity with which they started the art. At least lets not take disk space for granted with our applications :)
