The right click script is easily cracked though, because the function used has to "rewind" itself before it is run again, meaning that if one is fast enough, right clicking and hitting enter to get out of the popup message fast enough will eventually bring about the menu.

//I take that back your script seems to be more functional then most :-P Either that or my computer is to fast for the loopback.

Hrmm...IMadmin, I'm just wondering why you would want to encrypt your site. Have you written any scripts yourself? I know that you have borrowed scripts from other people. How are the authors of those scripts supposed to get credit for them if people can't view source on your page...?

:?: :dance2:

I have a challenge for BigWebmaster. Seeing how good at cracking all the source code protection you are, maybe you can figure this one out too.

If you go to http://www.mibank.com and view the source code, you'll notice that there are a lot of blank lines in between the content. Anyway, you can highlight them and you'll notice that they used to be part of the source code (judging from the indentations and such).

What exactly is the trick here? Change the color or style of the text? It shouldn't be that diificult to figure out, but I don't know exactly how the developer did it.

I'm not sure what your referring to... I see all the source... yes, it's all spaced really funky, but all the source code is there.

There are ways of hiding your source that is 10 times better than that. I've seen pages completely encoded, and somehow decoded by the browser.

I do not think there is any trick on that site. From what I can tell the full source is there and maybe they have just edited their html so many times they forgot to remove many of the indents. As far as the long spaces between the content your guess is as good as mine. I have done that in the past before so that I can easily see the area I was working on, instead of having to hunt for it in a condensed down version of my source.

Anyway I don't think there is any trickery going on with this site.

Hello to everybody, i am a new comer to this forum and it is perfect i think; especially this topic.
I have read all messages and really impressed.
What do you think about these pages;
http://www.protecthtml.com/product/wp/
(This site has its own program; "Web Protector 2.0" )
At the bottom, there are 6 sample pages. Are they secure or can be broken or how?

and a 2nd quest. : does an algorithm slow the page loading time? But how can a browser decode instantly these codes.

Yeah, all it is doing is escaping text. All you gotta do is unescape it to see the source. Not really encrypted I would say.

Also usually these encrypter programs use JavaScript which is client based. It shouldn't affect the download time of the website, but if the JavaScript is resource intensive for the client, it might make it take a few seconds or more to computer the output.

as i have followed the discussion, it appears that it might be something for fun to do on some webpages.

I, myself, have tried to hide some of my codes... no right click, framed-pop up, force framed, hashed-and-unhashed-on-the-fly codes, etc. and one way or another, it can be ripped.

it might be browser dependent but having the pop-up window framed and disabling the menus will work...

but again, it resides on the use of the page...

It can still be ripped though, will just take a bit more work to get to. If it is on the web and people can see the website, I gurantee its possible to get the source. (Unless its Flash, a Java Applet or something else, however you can even figure out the source to those).
