How to read/write param of an applet at runtime?

I want to get param from an textbox then pass it to applet. How to solve this problem?

The code below do not take effect.

function get_param(String textt){
document.applet_name.param_name.value=textt;
}
</script>

I moved this thread to the programming forum.

I don't know JAVA well - at best I'm a beginner. Don't know if this will help at all with what you are trying to accomplish, but I noticed that you have "textt" twice in your code. Is that spelling intentional, or was it supposed to be "text" in both instances?

If you've written the applet yourself you could try adding a set method to the applet and calling it from javascript instead of using the parameter tag.

Here's an example of how this is done:
