Does anyone know of a way I can incorporate Javascript into my page so that I can view updates to my site without having to have the page automatically refresh all the time?
For instance, does Javascript have buffering capabilities that would allow me to run (without refreshing the page) my PHP/mySQL script to retrieve the most recent update to the database?

Any help would be very appreciated.

No, you can't do that.

If your comunication media is HTTP, the best result you can get is ActiveX or Java. But, in those cases you will be running a client-side application which can make no sense at all, if you can replace it with a stand-alone application (C/C++, VB, Java, etc)
