membership management script

Hey folks, I was putting together a site and am looking for a bit of input. I want a prebuilt customizable script that will allow for members to sign up via paypal and go straight to password protected part of the site.(Their user/pass should be emailed to them upon payment). It should also allow for me to set the options like when the membership expires etc. I saw quite a few on hotscripts but I wasnt sure what is considered the leader these days as far as the best bang for the buck(or if any great free ones were available).
