A more modern up to date 2010 version of a guest book.

I am building a dynamic site for my cousins wedding. I will be using PHP with MySQL on the backend. I would like to have a page where friends and family can upload photos and/or video as well as text well wishes and congratulations to the Bride and Groom.

I know how to script an upload handler, but that’s it. How can I build a Facebook/MySpace community type page that will hold the desired above content in a neat look and feel and organized display?

Is there an online tutorial, project, or even a pre-written script that can simply be added to the site?

Try using Wordpress. It's used for blogging but I'm sure it could be easily tweeked to do what you want it to.
