A year ago (or so) I found an error notice about failed MySQL connections and decided to use it (I don't know where I found it). I don't know how relevant it is and how correct it is...

are you inquiring about why there is an error or just the text?

I'm inquiring whether the text in that error is accurate... I deliberately put in false information so the error notice would come up. I'm just wondering whether the information that the class throws out is accurate and up-to-date or inaccurate or outdated.

well if the server is running an uptodate version of mysql that is mysql 5.5 then i cannot see why not. A quick check and the port numbers are correct. How ever if changed on server.

The error text isn't generated... I found that text on the web and put it into my db class to make the error notice that the class throws to be more informative then it already is. That's why I'm asking.
