Need help with certain type of scroling text marque

i cant figure how to acheive what i want
so ive come to seek the wisdom of the elders...

i'd like to setup a scrolling text marque that will enable me to
scroll the text up to down within a certain area and keep the
background stationary (not just a color but part of an image)

i throw myself at the knees of the council...if there is one...thnxx

thats what im lookin for....except i want the scrolling to be controled

So you want to have a TEXTAREA then? There is a page with a load of different cool things like that... http://www.w3schools.com/ somewhere on there.
