Need help with the installation of Wordpress MU

Guys i want to do an installation of wordpress MU on my localhost, but it kept asking me to create
http://localhost.localdomain/
Please how do i create this domain, so i can install wordpress MU. thanks.

You can use your OS host file to point http://localhost.localdomain/ to your localhost

You need to put this in the file


Whenever you go and type something in the browser address bar the OS first looks at the host file to see if there is any matching domain if there is then it redirects to the IP else it goes to the DNS server to get the address location.

I guess this is all that you want, i am assuming that you have all the other things setup for Wordpress MU

What OS as you using ? because if it is Linux. you could just do a apt-get if a debian based setup of wordpress and it will install it all for you ?

Or if you want to do it via a web server (IIS/ Apache etc) then nps, you just need to install either one and then either create a virtual host and place the install files into there, you will need to have a database as well, I would recommend mysql.
