new stays new

i know i asked this before but how do you make it so when you logout then login the post that are new and not checked will stay new? please tell me were to put it thanks.

i found it over at phpbb hacks, but it didn't work right when I installed it on the latest version, not sure if I typed something wrong or if it just wont work with the latest phpbb version.

when that happens to me, I just go to the category's first page where all
the threads are listed and hit "Mark all as read."

i dont mean that i mean if you have 2 unread posts then logout and come back 5 mins l8er they are marked as read.... how do i fix that?
