Hello all,

As the subject indicates, I am an absolute novice in programming. I'm trying to compile a program I wrote in C, using the "gcc filename.c" command, but it keeps saying: "-bash: gcc: command not found." I also tried typing in "gcc filename.c -o filename," but to no avail. I am working on a Mac, using Terminal. Do any of you know why this is the case?

I'll probably wind up posting a barrage of other noob questions in the future.. just warning you all.

I just conducted some research on the net, and it seems that I have to download GCC in order for the command to work. Any insight? From where should I download it?

I don't use Mac, but this is where I would start if I did.
