not sure if this is the right place but i was wondering why when you put something like
PHP Code: [ Select ]

<?

$var = "hi";

echo("$var");

?>
  1.
  2. <?
  3.
  4. $var = "hi";
  5.
  6. echo("$var");
  7.
  8. ?>

//ment to be out of code

why doesnt it exicute? its being added to the sorce code as php or does the form replace the < with the writen symbol?

OK - finally I see what you are talking about. A few common HTML tags are alllowed by default and the forum Administrator can add those of his/her own they wish to allow. For obvious reasons, anything else is stripped by the program and parsed as plain text.
