i guess you can not do that, what you can do is put a blank transparent image over your image, so that no one can save it. But still it can be saved, if you can see it you can copy it.

forgot to say that if you have a high quality picture, then there is a way u can stop the person stealing in high quality, you have to create a virtual path of that image every time one request for and associate that with your html page

Another option is to place the image inside a flash wrapper. Users won't be able to download the image that way, but using the flash option will increase the download time, anyone without the flash player won't see it, and anyone can simply hit print screen on their keyboard to make a copy of what's on their screen regardless of what you put the picture in or under.

Unfortunately, if your viewers can see it there is no good way to keep them from copying it.

once the image is viewed on the user machine, it simply means it's already downloaded to his machine and hence he can save it in some way..

I think there is no way.... you do not want people copy pictures, so do not publish then :-)

best way is a watermark but it ruins the show.

There is no way how to disable. Just use PrtSc key, and paste it to the paint, or photoshop or similar editors, crop it and you got any image you want...
