I have read the O'REILLY actionscript book. It is fairly thorough with very good examples. I wouldn't spend $30 on it though. You can pick up a intro book for around $19 or find them on sale at about $15.
This will save you some money.

Here are a couple of books I've been looking at getting for a while..

PHP Bible - All of the "bible" books I've seen have been great.

Secure PHP Development - Had a read through, has some great examples & information.

And I'd probably grab this one too while I'm at it..

MySQL Bible

Great selection of books! Don't think I would have the time to go through all 3 1,000 page books.

I picked up this for $8 used.

Its on Amazon for $14.

Anything else you need to know about php, you can reference the PHP library online. That will give you all your syntax run-throughs.

I'm still a student and always try to save some cash!

Happy browsing!

Yup, like Stinger says, PHP's online reference is absolutely great. That's the only reason I haven't bought those books yet that I mentioned above, hehe.
