What the hell is OACS?

PHP/MySQL hosting has become very widespread and very inexpensive. It enables people to design data driven dynamic websites without controlling their own server.

No it's not. His question implied what is better about PHP over OACS? I'm asking, what does OACS offer that PHP doesn't?

I use PHP, i'm happy with PHP, why should I even look at OACS?

OACS is a framework for aplication development on AOLserver, using oracle or PostgreSQL database and is written in TCL.
So, in general, it's more a TCL vs PHP, OACS vs LAMP, AOLserver vs Apache, PostgreSQL vs MySQL question.

The most obvious advantage of PHP as a language is its popularity = support.

I mean, I'm not going to run anything with the words "AOL" in it on a production server.

I was thinking the same thing, except I put a period right after "AOL" in it
