I'm having trouble setting up phpBB2 on my new host. I went on there, activated MySql and phpmyadmin - So I know it's active. When I try to set up phpBB2, I get a 'can't connect to database error. I've tried their support to no avail. I'll provide the info if someone will get me through this step by step.

Is that all the error says? Also are you sure you entered the information correctly on that setup page?

did you keep the server as localhost? or change it to the server they gave you? if they didn't give you one, ignore that.

I had to log on as 'root' - Thanks for the replies anyway.
