phpMyadmin large blob uplaods

Hi
does anyone know how to upload a large file into php scripts? Specifically a blob field in a mysql database that is managed by phpMyAdmin in particular? The largest file I can get it to upload is about 50kb. What fields in php.in and other config files do I need to change

Any help greatly appreciated.
