I looked up some of the articles on OZ.

Alot of the authors stated that it is not a real solution and is largely unsupported

I've used Oz/Mozart a bit. Exactly what is your question? It is a very different programming language from C, more like Prolog.

The web page is http://www.mozart-oz.org/ (down ATM).

Also, it is indeed a real solution, it can even be used on PocketPC. Have a look at the Second International Mozart/Oz Conference.

I write this function to calculate the power by multiple the base

declare
fun {Pow N M}
if M == 0 then 1
else
N * {Pow N M-1}
end
end

for instance power{2 8} do 8 recursive call. How to make this function more efficient. This can be do using only 3 multiplication. 2^2 = 2 *2, 2^4 = (2^2)(2^2), 2^8 = (2^4)2^4).
