Post 3+ Months Ago

Hello,

I am using the AJAX library prototype.js to POST a very long string (thousands of characters in length). I thought with POST the maximum length was huge! However my string I'm posting is getting cut off after a couple of thousand characters.

I was just wondering if anyone knew the actual maximum length of the POST method with ajax and a way round it? I suspect I may have to chop the string and make multiple requests.

Would be good to know your thoughts on this :)

Thanks in advance,

You sure it's a POST request? If it's a GET it will be truncated at a few thousand depending on the browser.

If it is a POST, I'm pretty sure there is no maximum, but there is a max request size in the php.ini file or the actual script you're using could also be limiting it.
