I am running a server from my home and am trying to password protect it. I have set up the ".htaccess" and ".htpasswd" files and it seems that the pages I wanted to protect are protected. The problem I am having now is getting the passwords to work. I have a feeling that I don't have the correct file path in the htaccess file, and I'm really not sure how I should put it in correctly.
Please be patient with me, I don't really have any idea what I am doing lol any help would be greatly appreciated :D Thank you

http://www.webdevelopersjournal.com/articles/htpasswd.html

On windows machines use path like this:

c:/dir/to/your/htpassword/.htpasswd

One question. Do you have IIS installed?

I don't have any idea what IIS is. So I guess the answer is no.
