Hi folks, has anyone here ever set up a shopping cart? a client has asked for a site to include it and I have never set up one before. The hosting company I am going to be with has an http://www.osCommerce.com cart.

I am debating whether to try set it up myself or whether to pay someone else with some experience to do it..

yeah i actually just had a look at my clients bank website and they offer a payment gateway - they say once your customers have chosen the goods and services that they wish to purchase from your web site, they click on the 'Payment Button', which transfers them to the National Secure Internet Payment Service payment page. Your customer then inputs their credit card details, confirms the transaction amount and acknowledges the terms and conditions of the service. A transaction record is generated advising if the transaction was approved or declined. The customer can print or save this transaction record. At the same time, an e-mail confirmation is forwarded to you, so you can dispatch the goods and services requested. The customer is automatically transferred back to your web site.

Sounds okay huh.

Just have to go through the instructions to set it up. See how I go! Well your right, once I learn how to do it once then I can offer that to my other clients.

I set up osCommerce through the same host, and have had very little problems with it.

To see a slightly modified version of the original code (includes the template mod found at the osC website):

NOTE: This is a live store, all orders will be processed!
