"Not appropriate"?
Let's see "Programming / Scripting / Coding Forum" hmmm

"and you already tried to get this done in flash, so please don't
post on this subject again."

Last time I check no one replied and so maybe if no one could do it in flash then maybe someone had a way in php or java

With almost 8000 combined posts one would assume some information rather than chastening.

I wasn't the one who locked your post, but I replied to be sure
you knew someone had seen your other post. We do not like
nor allow crossposting, and this is very well what you did.

The inappopriateness of your post was in regard to the content
of the question, not where you placed it. I can't speak for the
moderator who locked your thread, but I can say that there is
a reason and I back him up on it.

If you don't like how we moderate OZZU, then please feel free
to send a PM to Bigwebmaster and he'll be sure to tell you the
same things I just did.

Reread UNFLUX's post here (in this thread)....I didn't lock the first post because of "where" it was. I locked it because of the content as he said. Leeching is not acceptable here. If you intended it otherwise my apologies, but if so, try to state what you are trying to do in more legal terms...otherwise one of us is going to lock this one as well...If you intend to get help with a legit problem, speak now or forever hold your peace. And make it clear what you are attempting to do.

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here.

BTW -- I read almost all posts and I'm pretty sure UNFLUX does too as well as Bigwebmaster.

i want to give a single person the hyperlink to the page.
once they go to the page no one can go to the page again not even them.

That's more like it. Thanks. Personally, I don't have the answer...but there are several here with excellent programming skills that could give you some ideas.

thats easy with php or perl.

1. create a script that accepts one url parameter
2. Get it to check that url paramater against a table in a (single column) mysql data base somewhere, and if the parameter sent exists, give them the download and delete it from the db. If it doesn't, tell user to go away

Whenever you want to give someone the address, just add an item to the db, and then the link will work once

This is a simple job, I'll do it for you for $25 if you want. You would need access to a mysql database, or I could just configure it to use a text file instead (for something like this a mysql database is overkill) PM me if your interested.

thanks rj i search and found a php script last night to write to txt file
i use flash since i already knew how to load text into it if the value wasn't the same then they couldn't go further
the page that the link went to only accepts a link from that one page i used weblock pro to do this and block out all the source code

sounds extreme i guess lol....

anyone here who knows there stuff could crack that in about 40 seconds. If i remember correctly, Bigweb hosts a weblock pro descrambler here at ozzu, but I can't remember the URL.

As for the getting it from flash, etc., that doesn't sound very secure either, but I don't understand what your saying with that.

It's not at all hard to do. Learn PHP and do it yoruself, or just give me the $25 and I'll do it in perl for you.
