For some reason my WAMP won't start. It stays yellow, and my browser is bringing that 404 error when I try to go to localhost.

Any suggestions?

Check the error logs?

What error logs? The ones I checked are Apache, PHP, and MySQL and none of them are telling me anything.

I don't think that the Apache service is starting.

Have you made any recent changes to httpd.conf, or any other configuration file for that matter?

If Apache isn't starting properly, it will be reflected in the logs.

I didn't change anything.

Which logs? I went to wamp/logs and looked through all the logs... didn't see anything there.

This one: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/logs.html#errorlog

There's also a chance that you have a rogue httpd process running somewhere hogging up port 80 (or whatever you use). Check your processes and ports to make sure it's free.

I have a lot of ports in use

Most of the established 'proto ? ' is on ports 49192-52334 with an IP of 10.0.0.3. I'm not sure who's or what's IP that is.

As it comes to port 80.

Code: [ Select ]
TCP  0.0.0.0:80       Bogey-PC:0       LISTENING

I used netstat -a in cmd.exe

Also, where am I going to find that error log on my computer using WAMPSERVER?

Isn't there a link to the Apache error log in the WAMP tray icon menu?

Oh that yes. I've checked all those and they don't have anything relevant.

That one had some 200 status for GET files when I was using the WAMPSERVER today at 2 in the morning.

It doesn't have anything stored there about now.

I deleted that file and had Apache create a new page and it doesn't log anything.

Took me like 3 hours but I figured it out... stupid Skype.

Why would skype block WAMPSERVER from starting?

Looks like it's common Skype behavior. Don't ask me why :/

Yeah, either this, or you can just go to Skype, go to "tools > options" then "advanced" then "connection" and uncheck the "Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections" ... then restart skype and then restart wamp ...
