A bit confused, in order to test a database you must have a database server, and thats what sql is....

You need a lot more help than you know... All I can say is RTFM

http://www.mysql.com/documentation/mysq ... troduction

Apache 1.3: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/
Apache 2.0: http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/

And since it looks like your confused about this. Apache does not have anything to do with databases or MySQL. You'll need another piece of software to do the middle ground work: <a href="http://www.php.net/">PHP</a>.

I'm confused about this.

I'm also confused about why your trying to use MySQL software with a different database. A Microsoft Access database is also a lot different from the kind you want to be using.
