upload in in ASCII mode?

Hi

I am trying to install the perl guestbook script on to my server in ASCII mode, i am unsure how to do this. I am using smartFTP and am not sure the correct way to do it?

I would be grateful if you could help.

One more question about the installation of (http://guestbook.bigwebmaster.com/guest ... ation.html) do i upload the actual file names "guestbook-v1..02" or just the contents of the folder?

Try looking on the File menu.. is there a "Transfer mode" setting?

I've not used SmartFTP, but in FlashFXP, CuteFTP, etc. they all have an option somewhere to choose between Binary, ASCII & Auto transfer mode.

I use SmartFTP as my main FTP client and on the main toolbar there are 3 icons, ASCII, Binary, and Auto just turn it off of auto and onto ASCII and it should work just fine, but you should probably change it back afterwards because it might mess up some other files you may upload.
