User authentication with Perl

Can anyone tell me how I can do a login/register script with Perl and have it set proper cookies to keep the user logged in?

Any help will be appreciated :)

don't re-invent the wheel. you can extend your perl with an authenticaion module from here: http://www.perl.com/CPAN/
