There is no code specifically for a geocities site.

There are plenty of scipts out there for websites. Whether they will work on Geocities or not is up to Geocities. Most stuff like this won't.

http://www.hotscripts.com

Geocities doesn't support that kind of scripting. You would have to use client-side javascript, which is not secure, and any script-kiddy cold get around in 2 minutes.

You really need to get a real hosting account to implement this sort of feature.

Unless you only plan on having one password and don't care one bit about security (which defeats the purpose of a password entirely), you'd want to use an online database for this.

Otherwise javascript will work for you, but as axe said, any script-kiddy could find the password in minutes (or seconds), but most of your other less-experienced web-users will find it to be a little more difficult.

Security is what you need to think about. If you're just trying to deter most people from accessing a few of your files but don't care too much about whether a few people break into your private area, use javascript. If you want real security, get a better host. You can get cheap hosting with a database for under $5 a month.

It's pretty obvious where to go if you can read :)

First you select you language.
Then, if you want a script, I'd say "Scripts and Programs" would be the most likely link.
Then, as you're looking for a "User Authentication" script.. hmm.. tough one... Perhaps the link that says "User Authentication"? ;)

You click on whatever Geocities allows you to use :)

Contact Geocities, find out what technologies they offer. I use real hosting accounts, so I always make sure to know what technologies are available to me before I purchase a hosting account.

Exactly what Geocities does and doesn't offer I don't know, as Geocities simply doesn't interest me, and researching them offers no real value. You would need to contact them, or pick yourself up a cheap hosting account somewhere that offers what you need.
