who is the best??? I have a mac ai file, must change for pc

ok,
I was at at school and saved a illustrator 10 file on zip. Now, I am at home with pc, and did not do proper changes on saving.

I must open the ai file with a text pad, and make changes so that it will open up on a pc. Can anyone help?? I know your out there!

What's the name of the file? Did you try to rename the file with the .ai extension?

PC's associate files with an extension and mac's do not.

Well, I got it to work.

The file was flower.ai

I was getting some nasty error messages about different variables. I looked online for a few hours and found something similar.

It seems that the same errors come up for the accessibility option within mac files.

The quick fix?

I had to create a new blank file, and then place the orig file into it. This gave me all layers. This also notified me that all text would be replaced with system-default text etc. . ..

Do you mean to say that you have Illustrator 10 on two computers: one Mac and one Windows? What error messages did the Windows graphics editior (I'm assuming Illustrator) report?
