XML over MySQL

Would it be better to use XML for a shopping catalog or a MySQL database?

I'm learning XML, but I know MySQL. What I don't know about XML is how to remove entries once I added them to it. Any ideas?

Yeah...XML isn't a database. It's a markup language. You might use it to export a database or format information, especially when communicating between computers (ie. not between humans) because it's a simple, semantic language.
