Whois database search by Owner Name

It seems like most sites performing Whois directory searches only allow to search by domain name and some also offer an additional IP lookup. Im just wondering if they can do it why cant I get my own access to this database being that the registrant information is public access.

My goal is to search by registrant name so Id love to hear any options or if this is possible though somehow these other sites are doing it.]]>

Im developing a niche search engine and would like to hear your thoughts and experiences
You can answer on "search engines in general" or about some specific (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo etc).

- What features would you add / change / discard?

- Is there something that frustrates you when searching and youd like it to be "fixed"?

- Would you like to see more / less of "something" (social elements, personalization etc)?

- Have you seen some great feature, on a less known search engine, that you have really liked (for example, filtering results when searching at online stores)?

- Other improvements?

( Im not expecting you to answer all/any of the questions above, I just put them as ideas on what to answer )

Sphider

I tell them, I have a small site where I package the search sphider and works wonders to the mill to index web sites.
However I can not do the same with PDF files, i.e. you when you are developing a website, put an another folder all files, including PDFs. The idea is that when one searches for a file I point to this folder and not to the page that makes the file mension.

I hope I have been clear and that laguien can help me.

How to socially bookmark without spamming

Since I have my site up and running for a few weeks now, I use social platforms to get my articles out there. The truth is, that I dont really know how to do this effectively. I got some good results with Reddit on two articles, but since a few weeks, I get the following message:

"Youve submitted too many links recently. Please try again in an hour."

The problem is, I am getting this message for several weeks now, and I cant even post a question in their help section. I sent a message to the webmaster, but didnt get a reply. I am afraid that Reddit has identified me as a spammer, and my only alternative seems to be to re-register with a different name.

My question is, how do I effectively conduct social marketing, without being identified as a spammer? Is it enough to post links to my articles on Twitter, Reddit, Stumbleupon, etc... or does it require some more involvement? How about the number of links submitted? What is acceptable on a day, and what is not?

Social Marketing Automation

I am wondering whether there is an automated way to promote my articles using various social media, e.g. digg, stumpleupon, etc. I am using Wordpress for my blog, and all my posts are submitted to Twitter automatically after posting it.

Is there a similar way to do his for other social media sites? Or am I stuck to post it manually for each post I write?

Hosting server location

Does it matter the location of the hosting server?
For example, if I have a wensite in english, but the hosting server is in Spain, and I want target users from UK, USA, Canada; is it better in search engines to use a server from these countries?
Also, the search engines check the server location, or it matters in Page Rank?]]>

How to promote my Wordpress plugin

few years ago I had some spare time on my hands and I have written Wordpress plugin Watermark RELOADED. Now I have taken things one step further and written successor called Watermark RELOADED Pro, witch has many more advanced features for watermarking images.

I have tried to promote the Pro version with AdWords, etc. but no success. So I think I have to promote the plugin to group of Wordpress users. So where I could find a community that would bring me some desired results.

If you have any suggestions on how to promote the plugin, I would appreciate it.]]>

I have been looking for an (easy) way to not only check my SERP from different locations but also to see how my ads look like from these locations. I have been testing various proxys but was not impressed by their performance. Recently I tried a Firefox Toolbar from Geoedge which was quite impressive, but before I sign up I wanted to hear if any of you have experience with this company/toolbar.

Impact of domain forwarding with masking on SEO

I am considering to register a private domain for a new website of mine. I have checked out some providers, but since I already have a good hosting package elsewhere (which does not provide private registration options), I am thinking of getting a private registration at Bluerazor, and then forward it to a subdomain using the masking option.

Does anyone know, how this is going to impact search engine rankings? If I use domain forwarding with masking, is there is still a possibility for visitors to view the target domain, where the website is located?

It is very important, that the target domain (where the actual website is located) is not going to be registered in search engines.
