Error w/ ventrilo client and my keyboard

Im not sure if this is the correct forum to place this in, if not please feel free to move the topic.
My problem is that when Im using ventrilo while playing World of Warcraft my keyboard seems to "lock up" and my character will get stuck in a constant run in WoW. It seems to only happen while Im pressing my push to talk key. When this does happen my mouse goes out as well and I can not use my keyboard for a few seconds. Originally I thought the problem was my mouse and keyboard so I went out and bought new ones. The problem still occurs. I changed my push to talk key from caps lock to q thinking that caps lock might be the problem but it still does it with Q as the push to talk. Ive re-downloaded ventrilo hoping that it would resolve the problem but still no luck. Thanks in advance to anyone who can throw some knowledge on this my way.

Topic Replies: 3

No Sound!!!

Ever since Ive had this computer which is a compaq I could never get sound out of the rear sound port for some reason. So I always used the front one and it worked fine. Well my front one is broke so Im forced to use the back one but I cannot get it to work. If i plug my speakers in the micrphone slot there is some kinda of sound distortion but no sound, and I get no noise at all with the line out the green hole. Ive checked my device manager and there are no errors, Ive tried re installing realtek audio97 still nothing. I did notice under system speaker is says no driver installed..im not sure if that has something to do with it or not. I ve checked all of my volumes everything, still no sound. could someone please help me!!

Topic Replies: 2

PC lock ups

Hi

Ive got quite an old PC (bit over 4 yrs) running XP that is locking up on me. At first I thought it might have been a virus/spyware prob but I think Ive traced it down to a hard disk issue.

The lock ups are completely random and I have no choice but to power down to get the PC working again. Sometimes they happen with 10 minutes of firing up the box, other times it runs ok for several hours.

I have run a check disk and had it lock up during it (took 3 attempts to get a check disk to finish successfully). Unfortunately it has just locked up again so the check disk hasnt fixed the prob.

Can anybody give me some thoughts on what it might be and how to fix it.

Thanks
Mick

Topic Replies: 3

Dell D800 won't boot up

Ive got a Dell D800 Latitude laptop and it wont boot up. It tries for about 5 seconds and then nothing. The lights stay on but the hard drive stops and there is no screen. I can hear the fan running. I did a LCD check by hooking up an external monitor and toggling between it and the LCD display, and got nothing on either one so its not the monitor. I checked the memory sticks, so its not that. Could it be the CPU or the motherboard? I did some test on it where it beeps once then pauses, beeps 4 times, pauses and then beeps once more, but I have no idea what it means because it gives a code on the screen for you to reference it on a website, but my screen doesnt work. Does someone know what the beeps mean or do you have some advice on other things I can check? Thanks for your help- because Dell is absolutely NO help!
(((((((Dannydmode)))))))

Topic Replies: 1
