the link that dolay shared with us is what i used ... and i've set it up to send me a backup of my DB every hr thru e-mail ... i get the mails all well and good ... but as a test i went and uploaded the backup mysql db (thru cpanel -> backups -> restore database...) and usualy when one uploads...

yup ... try what these guys said ... but u might also want to check out Bullet Proof FTP Server, i personally use it and i recommend it for its simplicity :) in terms of u're problem ... the only other thing i think is hindering a connection to the ftp server is the thatu could be using u're interna...

when push comes to shove, u can barely upload a photo (freeservers file size limit :: 250kb)
