Look at what is on the first page of Google and ask yourself ...why????

Start with the google keyword tool ALWAYS, and write content in alignment with traffic/demand.

DMOZ are very particular (so it seems) about who and why they list certain websites. In saying this, yes its quite difficult to get in. But when you do, prepare to do a backflip because your indexing will soar.

Forget about page rank, concentrate on more important things like indexing.

PR realistically means very little, forget about it.

Gee theres some mixed answers here! How long is a piece of string? As already said, it depends on how many pages you have on your site, etc etc etc. If you follow the sitemap guidelines within google tools, theres really no reason why your site shouldnt be indexed within 10-14 days. I redesigned an entire site about a year ago, and my first page, first position spot didnt move within Google.

I would however, be mindful of the extent of changes, as mine still retained *some* of the original SEO.

Good luck being indexed at all. I can only imagine that trying to promote such a well known spam related industry that youre going to struggle.

Maybe Im wrong - who knows.

Wow, this is an old thread! Brought back some memories reading over this, thats for sure. Its been over 3 years since lising in Yahoo Directory, and whilst I cant be certain it helped me, I do know now that Ive been number one first page in Google for the past 2 or so years.
