Hi hervens, The site layout is really nice. A couple of things to look at would be a visually captivating image for the header (but don't overpower the text, its a balancing act). Also visit Google Fonts and grab some more engaging fonts for both your headers and you body copy. And the last thing I ...

Hey Biggaz,
Are you referring to the 1px border to the left right and top of the video or the thick rounded border on the edge of the video player skin?

If its the rounded border on the edge of the video player skin, then you will need to edit something in the flash file.

Thanks

Happy Monday! I am having a problem with a pull down menu on a site and while I thought fixing it would be simple I am having some problems. The site is dmpc.org . I like the design. The elements you have are really nicely designed with good colors and they are not overused. I do have 2 comments though. Why do you have the navigation in the sidebar right below the main navigation? It seems repetitive and while that might be cool in the footer it seems a bit od...

Hi waelmanz, Either the site didn't load properly for me or there isn't really any design or layout to speak of. Its just a continuous page of info. It would be easier to control the text if you threw it into its own div or even if you put it in paragraph tags. Just giving you another way to control it. Nice color scheme, very easy to look at. The right side of the top bar looks a little empty. Maybe you could shrink down the login box and throw it up there, or the search box. Its ok not to have a header. And normally I wouldn't suggest this but if you are new to coding then you might want to try letting Photoshop rip the code for you. What version of PS are you using?

thanks for the replay natas. I added a titlem, but that is still not doing it. any other ideas?

Post Posted: August 5th, 2009, 7:54 am

So I have the post headers here.

http://www.couponmom.com/blog/

But they dont scale properly when the title is multiple lines like here.

http://www.couponmom.com/blog/2009/01/396/

I would like the bottom to get pushed down if the header is multiple lines.

Thanks

Post Posted: August 3rd, 2009, 11:24 am

I agree with Fab, you really need to get more of the focus on the content. Also do you need 130px for the header img? Just seems a little big and it is pushing more content below the fold.

Post Posted: August 3rd, 2009, 11:16 am

I like the logo and the RSS icon, but the page is doing some odd things in FF3.5 on OSX as I scroll down the page. There seems to be some overlapping of content and lines. Also the button at the bottom says got to wrapper for this page. I also like the subtle detail of the shadow cast on the right s...

I like the bubble feel, but I feel like there are a lot of different white space areas going on. I wouldn't mind seeing a more uniform spacing between containers and their content. Also the blue box in the content area has a white online which makes it look like part of the box, where the orange box...

I will say that WP kind of has a size limit though. Its not like larger CMS's that have a way categorize/organize content/pages. Just keep that in mind.

The def focus is the "Rate My Job / Find Job Reviews" Box. Could you make the sub groups under the search bar into links? Also does the search look at both the jobs and the job reviews?

Post Posted: July 21st, 2009, 7:26 am

I like it man. It's really getting there. A couple things (all in FF3.5 on OSX) the right side where the header meets the content it seems to be a pixel off. Also the content padding is not the same on the left and right, not sure if thats what you meant to do or not.

Whats the scope? Are we talking about a CMS like Joomla, Drupal or something like Wordpress or blogger?

Post Posted: July 20th, 2009, 6:38 am

I like your idea of a 3 column but I think it would help guide the eye better if you made 1 column the main column and the other 2 sub columns. So put everything that is most important in that main column and then everything else make it feel less important.

Post Posted: July 20th, 2009, 6:36 am

I like the new header. What do you think about not having the space above it and pushing it all the way to the top of the page (pulls up the content on the page). Could you try extending the nav all the way across or right aligning it? Something just feels a little odd about it.

I'm calling the header the 30px line at the top with the site name in it. I'm not sure what I call the area where the FS is. I guess just the logo area works fine.

Yup its good and you made the left thinner. You could probably make the sidebar text smaller as well if you wanted to.

Because of that the main things that pull my attention is the logo (which has some grain to it) and the headers for each show (and the login button). You might want to bump ...

First of I have to agree with ATNO sharp, classy and simple. Very nice design. I struggle with additions to sites. I am all about simple and direct, I don't like filler material just show them what they came to see and stop. However my SEO guy is always telling me 2 things content is King and you sh...

Sounds good looking forward to it.

1. The design is nice. I did notice that the suggestion window that pops up when you are typing in the search box, appears behind the window with the video in it (in ff3 mac). 2 & 3. I did a searched and found the book I was looking for and compared it. 4. The coupons weren't that effective beca...

Kassim, Nice design. Really clean with good use of colors. Its a little hard to remember the nav is at the bottom not really used to that but as an ad agency you get certain passes most companies don't get when it comes to web design. I think creative institutions and companies should be different. ...

The code you put up doesn't show anything. Is the site up somewhere or is there a way you could put it up and post a link.

Thanks for the feedback, will keep those in mind when writing for my next site.

Hey mit, The site has a lot of stuff going on. I kind of agree with Victoria about the logo. I also think that making it a little smaller would pull more content up above the fold. There is a lot going on in the header as far as navigation goes. It's a little overwhelming. Can you slim it down some ...

I like the design of the site. Its simple with a bit of elegance. I am not that enthused about the top image. It shows the products floating over a gray gradient background, could you get a really high quality shot of them on a nice desk? Also there is a gray line that appears under resources and li...

Hey tihomir, The site is a very interesting concept. I do wonder like zyhouyi & Bogey, if the site is too directed at a small group and too much like twitter (although it does differ from twitter). The design seems a little plain. I am not saying that it needs a lot, just a little something extr...

Hi poison, The color scheme on the site is really nice and soothing. It doesn't hurt the eyes to stare at for a while. I am having a little trouble figuring out the priority of the page elements. Right now the google ad on the right draws my eye on the page the most. Is there any way that you could ...

Hey Leo,
Are you looking for some feedback on the code the design or both?

Post Posted: May 1st, 2009, 11:45 am

Could you pad the content in the box in the header and also pad the main content so that there is equal white space on the left and right.

K updated the site . Larger text, moved logo, fixed some of the errors but I have a problem. The problem is the errors and the warnings that remain are coming from one of my plug ins. Should I rewrite the plug in to get rid of the errors? The problem I have with rewriting the plug in is a)I don't wa...

@Bogey: Well I pull them down once I am done editing so I have a backup of the template, its just faster to edit them live as a template because the code doesn't work outside of Wordpress (and I hate running standalone servers). Also the Control Panel isn't provided by my hosting company its part of...

It's a PNG in a DIV that absolutely positioned and looks like hell in IE6. :) Why? Whats it look like ive not got the pleasher of owning IE 6 :anonymous: Pleasure is the wrong word for IE6, also I dont think IE6 supports the Z index of CSS. It's a PNG in a DIV that absolutely positioned and looks l...

The site looks good. The powerful vibrant images are well complimented by the more subtle site design elements. It looks like there are some scaling problems though on the mauricius page there is an issue with the sidebar header element and also some of the properties are larger then their container...

I like the logo its a lot of fun. I do feel like the page is a little plain though. Could you separate the upload area and the random image area? Also I noticed when you click an image it doesn't take you to that image it takes you to any random image. I would prefer go to the image I clicked on. Al...

W3C Validator found only 3 errors and 12 warnings, I would suggest (as I always do), to fix them :) Will do. Why do you have a link to the Wordpress plugins page in your CMS/blog there? Not a really big deal, but I think that is more to the administrator and I don't see anything on that plugins pag...

I like the color scheme and you have done a good job arranging the content but the site seems a little busy. Its hard to find a focal point. Right now there is a little bit of a fight between the large gossip image on the left and the scrolling on the right. If thats the area you want to get the mos...

Sorry about the issues. Dont get overwhelmed by design elements just start with something simple like this, where you only change the background and the header. I mean you could put more time into it I just kinda threw this together to give you an idea. http://external.push-here.com/ozzu...

Hey guys,
I wanted to get some feedback on this site. Both code and design. Granted the site is live so I cant really make any major changes, but there are some things I am not 100% sure (logo position?).

Thanks ahead of time.

I'm diggin on the white (or much closer to white) content. But I am going to go with ATNO on the title font go here and pick out something nice our else your name will always be Rnu Ant to me. lol

EDIT: I actually like this one.

Not sure if it is the way you intended it or not but the gradients in the main content boxes on the right have gone a little crazy. Also I am not sure you need the text to be so large. Try and fine the sweet spot with text size and line spacing where its comfortable to read but doesn't look like the...

ok I added 2 more but now I have to get back to work. They're just fun. http://external.push-here.com/ozzu/traderbots3.jpg Edit: If you pick one of the last 2 you could go with a logo element as well. Now really back to work. http://external.push-here.com/ozzu/traderbotsl...
