Tis a pity it doesn't work, too bad that over 90% of the viewers use IE where it does work.

It does it in IE too there buddy, and the number of views with IE has dropped. On the overall it's more like 80-85% now.

And don't worry about your site not being xhtml compatible. NO! Do NOT listen to this man. Making standard complient webpages is important. It increases the chances it will correctly render in more than just 1 browser as well as helping to move internet technology farther. You do realize that not u...

Gee I would have never have guessed....but what DOES that "L" in HTML stand for then :-? I may be a bit confused, but isn't it Hyper Text Mark-up Language...... Maybe I was wrong. I know it may not be able to handle variables and other such things like real "languages" Programming languages != Mark...

And I believe Unflux meant links to back up that IPB is "better" than phpBB, not just a google search for IPB. You are the one claiming it is better, so you are the one that should prove it, he shouldn't have to muddle out the information on his own because you say it's better. If you are going to ...

well, just because your experience with it was bad, doesn't mean everyone's is going to be. And you coming here and bashing the board we use isn't productive, nor is it very mature. My post was for the poster to use IPB, not to get this forum to change over, though it would be nice, especially sinc...

802.11 is a standard that manufactures must adhere to the B is the most common (802.11b) and widely used. G is on its way to replace the B the main selling points of G is 54mbps, B is only 11mbps. I think A is 1 or 5mbps. A and G I also think the A, B, and G, run on the 2.4Ghz range. I know for sur...

Longhorn out 2005-2006 and it will suck.

Office 2003 fixes outlook but other than that, it's mostly bloat.

Hmm i put a conversion code and compile it i open the msdos .cpp file and i type in number and it automatically closes dos... its suposed to convert the code heh Time to learn C++. For one, the Window should close. You are NOT supposed to just double click it. It is a program run from command promp...

1 of the limitations of rand() is the fact that it can only work with ints. However, if you only need to go up to 64,000 why not use an unsigned int? That can reach up to 65,535 and is still an integer, so I think it still works with rand(). That or you could create a function that seeds rand(), the...

I don't really like it, the intro was just plain... maybe that's because I've seen thousands of them....

The HTML needs alot of work, your site doesn't validate and I think the Flash needs more action and more speed in certain areas.

Your forum looks un-original and bland. Everyone seems to have a forum and I see nothing unique to make me want to join your forum than any others. The site looks very amateurish. Photo backgrounds = no. Just make it 1 solid color. Also, the site is very small at 1280 X 1024, I'd recommend using per...

The book i have says it uses a gnu compiler. So does that mean the book i have will do fine with the new compiler you suggested? If the book was made several years ago, then it won't be a good book since the C++ standard just came out like 4 years ago and books just NOW have been getting more stand...

Are those compilers free? if so please send me a link :) MinGW is a free compiler. Dev-C++ uses MinGW to create an IDE. MinGW can be found at http://www.mingw.org however, a person at http://www.nuwen.net created a much better package for MinGW. If you use MinGW, it's command line compiling. DevShe...

In Opera, the links do not render correctly. You hover over a link, it'll turn red but won't go back when the mouse goes out.

I'd look at the code but I don't feel like it. It's probably an error in the coding, like forgetting a onmouseout event.

phpBB sucks.

Seriously, Invision Power Board has as many, if not, more features than vBull and it definatly has WAY more features than phpBB. It is alot easier to setup and maintain.

It even has the ability to convert phpBB and vBull to IPB when setting it up.

DevC++ uses MinGW and gcc 3.3.1 to compile your code.

MinGW is very conformant to the C++ standard. It looks like you were using broken C++.

It would help to POST your code so we could tell you what the problems are and why

You prototyped the function to return a char, but you want it to return a string?

I'm not exactly familure with the C headers, but include <string.h> and then with the function prototype, change char to string. Also, declare rem within your function as a string and not an array of chars

Post Posted: October 26th, 2003, 9:17 pm

For 1, I'd recommend another compiler for C++. VisualC++ 6 is fairly broken and ignores the standard. Hell it came out BEFORE the C++ standard. I'd recommend using MinGW, or if you need an IDE (editor and compiler built into 1 application) use DevShed's C++ IDE or even VisualC++ .NET 2003 Also, HTML...
