Is it generally better to have a domain with the full site/ company name, or shortened to the acronym?

Yeah I am working on building some content now. I have a few blog posts and still need to tweak the layout. Trying to recruit some of my friends to join the forum and get some discussion going so there is reason for visitors to stick around when they visit. The developer I used to create the site di...

OK, the site is up and running (see signature). Still need to tweak the layout and such but the company that designed it has it optimized and provided some keywords to target. I'll likely spend some time just creating some content before I go the Google Adsense route.

grishamist - He really didn't mention joining forums and promoting it via that. He said his site might only be a sports forum itself. Joining other forums and advertising in your signature is a way to advertise, but that is not the question northjersey78 had. With regards to adwords and the $500 in...

Need a complete install and set-up of a sports themed website along with a logo and optimization for search engines. The site will need the following: • Logo and header design. • Main page (constantly displaying RSS news feeds, sports schedules, news, YouTubs clips, etc...) • Vbulletin Forum (softwa...

So I have kicked around ideas for a site for years - started a few but they always died because I never had the time or energy to devote to them. I want to get back to those ideas and start another - it will likely by a NY area sports themed site and may very well only be a forum. So what is a reali...

Never mind...I finally got it to start in safe mode, uninstalled some add-ins and now it works.

I have no idea what happened...but my 3.0 version of Firefox wouldn't load so I open the older version still installed. Something got screwed up..and the bottom line is now it will not open at all - no matter which file I use I get an error message that Firefox has crashed and cannot restart. I unin...

Can I install XP at this point even though Vista was pre-installed?

Post Posted: July 26th, 2007, 11:09 am

Anyone else have problems with Microsoft Vista? I bought a new Dell Inspiron a few months ago with Vista Home installed. In the last month or so I noticed a lot if problems and I'm not sure if they are all related to the OS or something else. Executable files either will not run, or cause the system...

Just got a new Dell laptop. I bought a docking station when I have it in my room. Got the monitor working, but how the *peach* do I keep the laptop closed and working at the same time? It just turns off when I shut it - I want to close the thing and use my external monitor. Also, sound only comes th...

I just heard back from Best Buy - it appears the motherboard is fried. Looks like a new computer for me. DAMN!

Post Posted: May 7th, 2007, 6:54 am

Well here's a new problem - the computer won't even start. Sounds like it is running extremely hard - it hums very loudly then dies. I wonder if I just need to buy a fan for this thing because it's just overheating?

Post Posted: May 6th, 2007, 12:46 pm

Yeah I think I am going to try a fresh install. I already have everything backed up so I'll just start fresh.

I swear it has just happened recently, or I just haven't noticed. But in the last week or so especially my unit has been extremely slow - Firefox takes forever to load and switch between tabs. I don't have very many extensions running, and it never uses more than 100K memory. But it's slow to do any...

did you try chkdsk?

Nope. How do I do that?

OK - I tried re-installing by booting to the XP disc - no dice. When I try to delete the partition it tells me I am not able to delete - no explanation. I then tried that Kill Disk program - same thing - I get an error when trying to erase what is on there now. Is God trying to tell me something?

Post Posted: April 3rd, 2007, 8:26 am

Cool - I will probably just do that. So this will eliminate all of the pre-installed Sony crap that was on there, right? And it will just give me standard XP related (MSN) stuff?

Post Posted: April 3rd, 2007, 6:51 am

Can't I simply reboot w/ the XP disc? Doesn't that give me the option to re-partition and re-install XP and accomplish the same thing?

Post Posted: April 2nd, 2007, 9:08 am

Once it wipes everything I'll need the Windows XP disk to restart fresh with the new operating system, correct?

Post Posted: April 2nd, 2007, 7:24 am

I used phpBB on my last forum and encountered a ton of issues with spam. Then someone hacked the forum and deleted everything. Installing hacks and things of that nature involve more coding and understanding of back-end stuff. I paid for vBulletin on my new board and love it - I find it much easier ...

I recently obtained a Sony Vaio laptop. It's at least a few years old, but might still be salvageable. I don't need anything on it - I can completely wipe clean whatever information is currently loaded. I tried booting but it takes like 30 minutes and I keep getting messages that data in each of the...

See my post Here: http://www.ozzu.com/ftopic62521.html Looking to have updated feeds displayed on my website http://www.nysportsboard.com. The idea will be to have a page (for now, the homepage) display automatically refreshed RSS feeds on NY area sports teams. I found a close exampl...
