Hello everyone... :D
I have a laptop that 5 minutes after it boots freezes, I have checked for viruses and its completely free of them. I have even gone a s far as reinstalling the OS, just to make sure, but the problem persists

can anyone help me?

You can usually fix this by restarting your router, I come across this problem from time to time(not to often either) where I must restart the router to get a wireless connection.

Don2007 its right, whenever you install a new OS, the OS may not have the drivers for some of your computer hardware, so it is necessary to go to the computer's manufacturer website and download the drivers for those components

Thanks for your confidence on me ATNO/TW, and for the Tips, however I did remove the virus before reading this post using Prevx 2.0. But since sometime you can really rely on softwares to remove certain malwares, I'll safe this tip for future reference.

well I have try in Safe mode and normal mode, and have the same result, when spybot is about to finish like at 75% of the scanning process it just turns off. I guess I'll try another software.

u see I have a Netgear Router and Bellsouth DSL, I couldnt connect to the net because there was a conflict between the DSL and the router's IP, all got fix by changing the router's IP.

Plus the laptop was giving a signal everytime I press the power button, that supposedly means bad memory... at least that was what the Dell support chick told me. ImmortalDuck, I dont think Lan Connections is located at the network connections. Open internet Explorer--> Tools ---> Internet Options---> Connections---> Lan Settings. I believe that is where it should be. As for changing the IP, if you buy a router, this pretty much takes care of it.....

did you just add one IP? or an IP Range? if you have 3 PCs, you should give an IP range of 5 or 4 Ips ex - I leave an extra 1 or 2 IP just in case I may need then later, but its not necesary.. make sure you are putting the right IPs, you can check you IP by going to start...

I used to have the same problem, only difference was that I have a Linksys router, I fixed the problem by taking the check mark off from the Internet Filtering option. Now like I said this is from a Linksys router options, I dont know if this may apply to your router. Good Luck.
