I had encrypted some documents in a user account on XP pro. I'v been using the files no problem for the last year. I tried to access them with another user account, by changing owner, then permissions. I was unable to unencrypt so I then logged in with the original user. I was able to unencrypt them...

I finally figured it out.

the server had a 15 second time-out, and the pdf was taking about 20secs to download in peak hours.

the case is correct. on a unix server, if u hav the wrong case, you get a 404 error.

I'v also renamed it to a.pdf to rule out cache coflicts.

one more thing i noticed, if I open the pdf viewer, then file >> open web page. then enter the web path of the pdf file. the pdf file loads fine. so the actual pdf seems to work, but will not load correctly from a browser. i'v tested with multiple machines to rule out a plugin problem. if your...

I tried both ascii and binary (binary should be the correct method i believe) multiple times, I'v uploaded other pdf's in same dir just to see if the ftp program was causing errors. all other pdf's worked. I have the right path as the pdf attempts to load, but freezes for a while, then white screen....

I have a webserver with lots of pdf's. however, one doesn't display. When I type in the url, i see the adobe splash screen but then a blank white page.

I can view the pdf file locally.

It's the same size as all the other pdf files on the webserver.

I upload pdf's via ftp.

I'm not sure people are going to be willing to finish your program for you, this board is mainly for questions and help. you also neglected to mention what exactly the program is supposed to do. "keep track of books" is very vauge. you should probably re-think your probelm and come up with a specifi...
