I need a program that will take a section of an excell spreadsheet and post it in an html file. I need to be able to enter a number, and have it post specific data from the spreadsheet based on the data. I kinda know some php, but not very much, and I'd like to use that, but anything would be apprec...

yeah, I tried that, and most people agreed that grey worked better... I would really like to use a completely different color, but I'm sorta limited.

i'm using "americandiscount-webhosting.com" and while they're a little odd, I found I can do pretty much everything there. On their home page, it says "streaming video" under the gold member allocations list, so I'm pretty sure I can do it. I could use windows media as well, but I prefer to use quic...

I have a movie that was designed for streaming video, but I don't know how to make it streaming. I know my host is web-streaming compatible, but thats's about it. Any help appreciated.

improvements have been made, what does eevryone think?

Post Posted: December 16th, 2003, 10:37 pm

I just need some sort of accounts program or script, so people can see how much they owe. All it really needs to do is have some sort of account thing so you can only see your own account, and no one elses

Post Posted: December 1st, 2003, 8:54 pm

hehe, thanks for all your help, guys

Post Posted: December 1st, 2003, 8:19 pm

well, after experimenting, I found that blue and gold on grey is about as good as it gets

Post Posted: December 1st, 2003, 6:33 pm

unless I'm not seeing something, you have to sign up and have a credit card and stuff. All I really need is to securely tell people how much they owe.

Post Posted: December 1st, 2003, 6:23 pm

well, I don't need a way for people to pay, I just need a way to tell them how much they owe

I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a program for online financial accounts. My band teacher was wondering if we could get one up and running. What I think would be best is a sort of posting program, where he posts account summaries online. But there has to be a way for people to log in, so ...

no, its just the way the cards were dealt. Next time I help decide a new schools colors, I'll make sure they work well on a website.

Post Posted: November 30th, 2003, 12:12 am

all I'm asking for is color schemes, I don't want to copy sites. And it's hard to emulate something that no one uses, because blue and gold is a sucky scheme! :iconpukel:

Post Posted: November 28th, 2003, 9:03 pm

I would like a new color combo for my website, other than the one I have. I have a black background with blue and gold text. I was wondering if anyone knew of a better combination using specifically blue and gold. The site just looks kinda cheesy

Post Posted: November 28th, 2003, 2:43 pm

yeah, I had the default font on dreamweaver set to geneva, and the font set to default font. I got it all updated now.

Post Posted: November 28th, 2003, 10:44 am

well, what confuses me is why you don't have geneva. I've always seen macs with geneva, is it just not standard on pc's? <p>And about my theme, I was wondering if anyone out there has a combination for blue and gold other than mine. That combo was the bst I could find, with the text contrastin...

I have to check about the streaming video thing, but I could at least put up some full videos. My band director has a couple of hilarious videos from band camp, and I think we have the shows on tape. And about the font, it's set to geneva, I don't know why yours is showing times. I'll play with it a...

ok, dreamweaver syas the file is there now. Does it work for you?

Post Posted: November 27th, 2003, 1:17 pm

ah, but it works if I go there
I think I'll try re-creating the image and the button, mybe that will help

Post Posted: November 27th, 2003, 11:13 am

yeah, we sort of do. Our band director is the brass leader of the Seattle Cascades, as you can read in the staff section. Several of our band members are in Cascades, and I'm thinking about trying out this year myself. Well, anyway, the colorguard link is really strange, because it works for me and ...

http://www.ferndaleband.org This is the site I've learned most of my weserving skills on. Some sections I'm still working on, but all of those have a "more later" sort of message at the bottom. The part I'm most worried about is the media section. It's fine with cable, but is it too slow for dial up?

Post Posted: November 26th, 2003, 6:19 pm

Just to let you know, my webhost replied to my email, and told me that he needed to upgrade my account for phpBB, and would do so shortly. It ends up, the website has an option for addind phpBB specifically.

Post Posted: November 25th, 2003, 12:57 am

well, it seems the best one is iPhoto. I'd suggest it, at least, for all you mac people out there, because

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 8:18 pm

really truly, every expert that uses a pc probably uses it because its better for their line of work or their working style. I also think that if someone's going to have a strong opinion about a mac, it shouldn't be based on public school computers

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 7:11 pm

i created the databases for trying to connect of phpBB, thats all. None of them were ever actually used by any sort of program. In fact, when I tried turning ODBC off, they were deleted. I can create them ,thats not a problem.

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 6:57 pm

i tried to create db using the information you gave me, but I cant get phpBB to connect to them for whatever reason.

Apple actually lost most of it's buisness when jobs wasnt ceo. And until recently, apple has been falling behind on the technology. Luckily, some contract with motorola ran out, and IBM is now making apple's chips. And schools have made some pretty bad decisions about the macs, at least, at my schoo...

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 6:50 pm

well, I managed to find a support email address, so I'll see if they have any answers

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 6:45 pm

shutting odbc off simply closes all options and deactivates any databases I have created

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 6:30 pm

well, I've tried multiple SQL types, and I've swichedd all the fields around in every combination I can think of. I'll see if I can get a hold of the company. Thanks for your time and help, though

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 6:17 pm

well, it says on the top of the installation page, If you are installing to a database that uses ODBC, e.g. MS Access you should first create a DSN for it before proceeding. When I'm creating a MySQL Server, it's under the ODBC section, so maybe that has something to do with it. My server wont allow...

sorry, it's just that whenever a topic liket his comes up, pc users always try to bash macs. I try to always stand up for macs, and sometimes I can get a little, as you put it, anal

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 5:43 pm

ah, it says on the installation page, Database Server Hostname/ DSN on the very first field, is this possibly what they're looking for?

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 5:35 pm

the dsn, as far as I can tell, is simply the name of the database. The company itself has absalutely no support, and no help forums or knowledge base. They have a spot for one, but it's completely empty. I guess thats what you get when your host is American Discount Web Hosting!

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 5:31 pm

and you can go ahead thinking that. i think that macs are better. So live with it.

Post Posted: November 24th, 2003, 5:23 pm

what I was looking for was someone to look at http://ferndaleband.org/americandiscount/odbc.html and tell me which one to choose, and what to enter in all of the slots. I'm having lots of trouble getting all the general instructions right, so I was looking for very clear and direct help. I have alre...

I have a website with a forum all ready to go, but I cant figure out how to create a mysql database. I know my host allows it, and I know how to create one. My problem is that my host allows many different types of ODBC drivers, and I can't figure out which one I need to use, what to enter in the "a...

it is true that comcasts support lacks. But it all depends where you are, and what services you can get

Post Posted: November 23rd, 2003, 10:50 pm

well, i havent kept up with this sort of thing lately, but I believe that aol broadband is a program, not an isp. I could be totally wrong, though. Comcast is the biggest cable company, and I use them. I hear dsl is pretty slow compared to cable, but it is cheaper. I personally like our comcast, and...

well, it looks like the new g5 has 5.1. Shell over 1800 bucks, and you can have a nice sound from your computer!

Post Posted: November 23rd, 2003, 10:43 pm

sure, macs may not be able to run that video card, but can pc's run over $5,000 worth of ram?

Post Posted: November 23rd, 2003, 10:38 pm

well, macs are approximately 5% of the market last time I herd, so if macs are getting 9% of the votes, we're doing pretty good!

Post Posted: November 23rd, 2003, 5:15 pm

i hate mac bashers, but people like you who give good reasons, I respect. It's true macs are better for somethings, and pc's are better for others. But the whole point of the web is that you can access stuff no matter what platform you're on.

Post Posted: November 23rd, 2003, 5:12 pm

This is an awesome site! Not only is the site itself cool, but the media in it is really nice. The only real things I can tell you is 1: put loading times for those with slower connections 2: on your animations page, do something else with the unreleased ones, like labeling "coming soon" on the butt...

well, it's a very nice looking site. It seems very proffessional. The information is nice, and its organized pretty well. Although, I did notice that you had the link to your downloads section halfway through the page. It should probably be on top, or maybe you should make another bar for site relat...

Post Posted: November 23rd, 2003, 4:43 pm

okay, first off, this site is very much pc only. I cant use the font you want me to, because the format is pc only. Secondly, the site is chunky and messed up when I try to view it with safari. I dont think it's because of the font, but it may be. Also, it's kind of unclear what the site is all abou...

I have a whole bunch of pictures I need to post online, and I was wondering if there was some sort of program (mac compatible) or code that will make pages for the pictures really quick. I've tried doing it by hand, and have decided that it takes waaaay to long.

Post Posted: November 23rd, 2003, 3:18 pm

I do believe that the emac only supports stereo sound. I think it's dumb that mac's are used mostly in the media department, yet they dont have much support for sound. As far as I know, the emac is like the imac in that they dont support any sort of card except airport. Even the big towers require a...

How do I tell if my hosting service can use phpBB?

Post Posted: November 19th, 2003, 7:55 pm

i'm sorry, for some reason I got linked to some other hosting site. When I clicked on the link again, it gave me a different one that worked

Post Posted: November 19th, 2003, 7:50 pm

when I try to log in on that site, it says that account doesnt exist.

Post Posted: November 19th, 2003, 7:40 pm

so can anyone trace my server? http://www.ferndaleband.org
Using a traceroute program, one of the locations was http://unknown.level3.net/ , but this doesnt seem to be a hosting service of any kind.
