Google doesn't factor the TLD extension into it's algo for anything. Don't tell me that, google uses TLD extension to give better results using user's geographical location. .edu links have more trust, thousands of links pointing to them and they are relatively older. They are a real jackpot if you have some.

But I am sure a site like http://site.edu/students/3sem/~entra/ will not look as effective as a .com site to your users.

MSN loves blog specially Blogspot ones. To beat other Blogspot blogs you can either create one or try to do better with your current website by using keywords in url, updating your content regularly (MSN loves that), writting an original copy etc....

you sure do need some structure, content is pretty good, but if your going to be using adsense, or for any other reason you have the site up, you need direction, hmmmm start out with a layout, get an idea from another good looking website that you like, and build something that people will remember...
