I agree with racheal. adding to that point is that blogs are pre-optimized and search engine friendly, you just got to have quality postings.

text links. because some graphical links are slow in loading or do not load properly. just consider the Internet users, most of them use dial up when connecting to the Internet.
and another thing is that when you use text links, your keyword is already on the anchor so it would be a plus point.

but in SEO you have to excert more effort, more patience, and more research because SEO really takes time and effort before you see the results.

it would be better if you submit your site to directories and exchange links with other sites that are already listed in search engines.

if you are concerned with your PR, gather as many inbound links as you can.

well, im not sure about that one. because i've never tried paid submissions. but for me free submissions were also effective.
